The story

Almost most people know the story of Jayalalithaa’s life and her relationship with MG Ramachandran. Director A.L. Vijay has done a good job of portraying Jayalalithaa’s struggle in the film.

The film begins with Jayalalithaa’s swearing-in scene where she says, “I will not set foot in the Legislative Assembly until I become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.” The story then goes into flashback and Jayalalithaa is portrayed as a successful actress.

Then superstar MG Ramachandran (Arvind Swamy) enters his life. Jayalalithaa and MGR have a personal as well as a personal relationship. He later became Jayalalithaa’s mentor in politics. After much struggle, Jayalalithaa became an important part of Indian politics, not just in the state of Tamil Nadu.

Thalaivi Review

Director Vijay has sincerely tried to portray a woman’s fight against self-esteem and patriarchy. The bonding between Jayalalithaa and MGR is well portrayed in the film. In one scene Jaya and MGR do not utter a single word while talking on the phone but their feelings reach the viewers.

This is the origin of the film. The first half of the film focuses on the love story of Jaya and MGR and the second half depicts Jaya’s political career. The film features a lot of dialogue and Kangana’s slow motion walk. The editing and background score of the film can be loud. The songs of the film also seem to hit a little break in the story.

Kangana Ranaut is one of the best actresses in Bollywood. He has also played the role of Jayalalithaa as well. Nowhere has Kangana tried to imitate Jayalalithaa and acted as per the demands of the story-scene.

The collaboration between Kangana and Arvind Swamy in the film is remarkable. Speaking of Arvind Swamy, no one could have played the role of a popular superstar and politician like MGR better than him.

There will be a new entry in ‘Gum Hai Kisi Ke Pyaar Mein’, a twist will come with actor Gajendra Chauhan!

Why to watch the movie ?

Everyone knows Jayalalithaa’s story but if you want to see a film with a great performance and you are a fan of Kangana, this film is not worth paying.
