Rupali went from working as a waitress to working in a boutique when Rupali’s family was going through financial hardships. While Rupali has also worked in films, she has also given the reason why she left the film industry.

Rupali Ganguly became Saharo when her father’s films sank
Rupali said in an interview to ETimes TV, “My father Anil Ganguly used to make films with a lot of passion. During those days, films were made with so much passion that people would even sell houses for them. Unfortunately, two or three of my father’s films flopped and we ended up on the road. Gaya. I was also working in films at that time but I never took my career seriously. Casting couch was very prevalent in the film industry at that time. I come from a film background but I promised my dad that I would never work without my self-esteem. No. That’s why he allowed me to become a heroine. However, at that time I couldn’t digest the things of the industry including the casting couch. That’s why I left films and started studying hotel management from Dadar Catering. However, I continued to work in plays. My father’s health was not good so I continued to work to run the house.I worked in a boutique, after my catering college I also worked as a waiter.I was paid Rs 180 per hour. Ya used to meet. I was constantly doing different things. I used to do plays too but the financial returns were nothing.”

Case of audition told
Rupali first auditioned for ‘Anupama’ producer Rajan Shahi’s show. Recalling the incident of that time, Rupali said that she walked from Worli to Andheri as she had no money to buy a bus ticket. “My first TV serial was Rajan Shahi’s ‘Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin’. I did whatever I got like, ads, catalog shoots. I remember when I went to audition for Rajan’s show, he did a pilot in 1999 with another actress. shot. But she wanted to work in actress films. Rajan’s show got a time slot but no lead actress”, said Rupali.

Rupali continued, “I walked from Worli to Andheri for the audition as I didn’t have money to buy a bus ticket. I was very tired when I reached the audition. I had a chance and I jumped at it. Heard that there was a demand for a double role as per the storyline. So I went to Rajan Shahi and requested him to give me one more chance. He was not willing but I begged him. The next day he called me. I came to Juhu and from there by bus. I sat down. I got there and auditioned again. They gave me the first scene and after that I did six scenes together. The rest is in front of everyone today. My journey started from there.”
