story
As the film is based on time travel, the story is a bit complicated. The film’s story and characters are split between 1990 and 2021. On a stormy night in the nineties, 12-year-old Anay dies in a road accident. Before dying, he sees his neighbor (Swastha Chatterjee) killing his wife and then destroying the evidence of the murder. 25 years later it is the same stormy night and Antara (Taapsee Pannu) who is a nurse has shifted to the same new house with her husband Rahul Bhatt and daughter. She is sitting in front of the TV and when she switches it on, she sees a boy named Pelo Anay. The frightening thing is that Anay is also seen on Antara TV. Now Antara has come to know that Anay will die in a road accident after seeing the murder. He tries to save Anay’s life through the medium of TV. In the past he saves Anay from an accident but in the present Antara loses his life points.
Review
Despite being an official Hindi remake of ‘Miraj’, Anurag Kashyap’s touch is clearly visible in the film. However, viewers expected a bit more depth and layered story from Anurag. The film moves with the events of the past and present so the film gets complicated at some points but the film holds up. As always Anurag’s character as a woman is strong and a glimpse of it is visible in the very first scene of the film. Taapsee Pannu is seen working hard for her current life as a doctor and nurse. The suspense that starts from the first scene is maintained till the end. The film also solves the mystery of murder with time travel which keeps the suspense and thriller alive. There are two songs in the film but they would have worked because the editing is tight.

How is the acting?
In terms of acting, Taapsee has proved to be one. In between time travel he has shown his Abhiyan in a special style in a powerful way. His impetuousness, insanity, confusion and misadventure reinforce his character. Pavel Gulati, seen in the role of a policeman, has done justice to the character. Swastha Chatterjee has enhanced the suspense and thrill of the film through her character. Rahul Bhatt, Nasser, Himanshi Chaudhary, Nidhi Singh etc. have also given good performances.
Why watch?
Lovers of time travel and suspense thriller movies can watch ‘Dobara’.
