The story

There are many similarities between the waves of the ocean and the flow of emotions in our lives. Life is often monotonous as the waves of the sea keep coming one after the other. There is a turbulence in the waves of the sea and we are drowning. The characters in the film ‘Gehraiyaan’ have tried to show the same confusion and flow of emotions in real life relationships. Alisha (Deepika Padukone) and Zainur (Siddhant Chaturvedi) love each other’s company. But the threads of their relationship are tangled inside. They find comfort and happiness with each other and at the same time there is a restlessness. They are also medicine for each other’s pain.

Alisha is a yoga instructor and Zayn is in the real estate business. The two are attracted to each other on the first visit. Both take plunges into this new relationship over time. But beyond emotion there is a real world where the reality of their relationship is different. Zain is engaged to Alisha’s cousin Tia (Ananya Pandey). Alisha has also been in a live-in relationship with Karan (Dhiarya Karwa) for six years. The reality of Alisha and Zain’s relationship is like an unresolved first and goes on a slippery slope. But will their romance cross this slippery heel? ‘Deepness’ refers to modern day relationships.

When and why does someone commit infidelity in a relationship? Director Shakun Batra’s film ‘Gaheraiyaan’ does not talk about the superficiality of the relationship but they go into its depths. Such films have become very rare in Hindi cinema. The film is clearly inspired by Woody Allen’s psychological thriller Match Point (2005). Director Shakun Batra has shown only intimacy in the film in such a way that you want to find something more than physical love in the film. Imagine if someone you love gets emotionally naked in front of you? Does society force you to repent for your weakness? The film also deals with this issue.

Alisha has anxiety and harassment in both the present and the past. He had seen many difficulties in his childhood. To this day she cannot forget the demons that tormented her believers. The effect of our parental relationship is certain somewhere on the way we think about love. The same is true with Elisha. Shakun Batra has been able to portray layers of love and family relationships on screen unfiltered. A glimpse of this was also seen in ‘Kapoor & Sons’. They place every aspect of a person’s complex behavior in their story. It also gives space to things that are often difficult to incorporate into a film’s story.

Deepika Padukone took permission from husband Ranveer Singh before intimate scene in Gehraiyaan?

Deepika Padukone has once again made an impression. He says a lot in many places without looking me in the eye. Even Siddhanta did not hesitate to play his role. There are also many layers to his character. The performance of both is commendable. There is a storm of emotions in the hearts of both but there is peace on the faces. This price is very well expressed by Deepika and Siddhant. According to the story of the film, the casting could not have been better. There is a story that begins in a normal and instinctive way but later takes the form of a thriller. Leads to a deeper, darker world. The film progresses like a time bomb and viewers are also afraid of what will happen next. Cinematography and sound have played a major role in bringing the thrill of the film to the screen. Many scenes are designed to be very quiet but very noisy inside.

However, there is something in the film that stings and that is the length of the film. The film manages to entertain as well as inform. In the second half, the film moves in such a way that you wonder which direction it is heading. The 2 hour and 28 minute long film can sometimes feel boring, even tiring. However, overall there are a lot of things in the film that touch the heart. The ‘depths’ will not disappoint if you want to see something different.
