Kriti Sen’s lead role film Mimi has long been a topic of discussion. The film was supposed to be released on July 30, 2021, but was leaked online on July 26. That’s why the makers released it online on the evening of July 26. The film is based on the issue of surrogacy. There was a time when India became a center of surrogacy for western countries. The Mimi film attempts to portray the same issue emotionally.
John and Summer, an American couple, come to India with Bhanu (Pankaj Tripathi) as their driver. When Bhanu finds out that John and Summer are looking for a surrogate mother for their child, he meets Mimi (Kriti Senan) from Rajasthan, who is a professional dancer. If you have seen the trailer of the movie, you must have guessed the story. John and Summer leave with their baby left in Mimi’s womb. This is the story of how Mimi gives birth to a child and what struggles she has to go through.
The plot of the film is very good. The beginning of the film is also very good. The story immediately gets on track. Some comic scenes of Pankaj Tripathi are also good. Kriti Senan also looks good in Mimi’s character. Some of the scenes in the work are very good. Kriti had a lot to do in the film but the screenplay is very poorly written. After a while you start to get bored. The film is longer than necessary. Although Kriti Sen has done very well in acting in the film, the actors can do nothing when the screenplay is weak. Apart from Kriti and Pankaj, Manoj Pahwa, Supriya Pathak and Sai Tamhankar are in supporting roles in the film and everyone has done enough justice to their character. Kriti’s entry in Mimi’s role is explosive. The film’s song Param Sundari is already a hit. Not a single actor has done a poor job in terms of acting. But the screenplay and direction weaken the film.

The film is entirely by Kriti Senan and Pankaj Tripathi. We have already seen the potential of Kriti Senan. Here too the work could do a lot but despite the lead role its character was not given as much space as it should have been. The director probably had more faith in Pankaj Tripathi, so he has been given a lot of space. The timing of Pankaj Tripathi’s dialogues is as tremendous as ever. This is his third film with Kriti Senan. He has previously worked with Bareilly Ki Barfi and Luca Chupi. However, Pankaj Tripathi seems to be getting monotonous. Manoj Pahwa, Supriya Pathak and Sai Tamhankar have also done justice to their character.
Why shoul you watch?
The film is on issues like surrogacy but is neat. If you are a fan of Kriti Senan and Pankaj Tripathi, you can watch this film.
