Special Public Prosecutor Atul Sarpande said that charges have been framed against all the accused in the chargesheet. He said while filing the draft chargesheet, Riya Chakraborty and Shovik used drugs and bought Sushant Singh for Rajput. The court was to decide the charges against all the accused but some of the accused could not do so after filing a discharge application, he added.
The court said the charges could not be decided until a decision was made on the discharge application. Riya Chakraborty and her brother Shovik were present in court during the proceedings on Wednesday. Special Judge V.G. Raghuvanshi will now hold a further hearing on July 12.
As the case unfolds, Sushant’s sister Priyanka Singh tweeted, “Good morning people looking for the truth. MTL: SSRians are promising in SSRCase. RTL: SSR beacon of good things.”

Riya Chakraborty was arrested in September 2020 after Sushant Singh Rajput’s murder case came up against Drugs Angle. Riya Chakraborty was released on bail by the Bombay High Court after spending almost a month in jail. Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Bandra home on 14 June 2020. Following the order of the Supreme Court, the case was handed over to the CBI. However, the CBI has not yet reached a conclusion and an investigation is underway.
