Akshay Kumar has been being trolled on social media since the trailer of the movie ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ was released. People were saying that Akshay Kumar is not suitable for this role. After which the makers of the film also released another trailer. Probably this is the reason why advance booking of the film was not required and even on the first day, despite being a big star like Akshay, less people came to the theater to see ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ than expected. The film ‘Samrat Prithviraj Review’, which tells the story of Prithviraj Chauhan, is disappointing.
We have read about Prithviraj Chauhan in history books but this introduces us to some years of his life. According to the story of the film, King Prithviraj (Akshay Kumar) of Ajmer was made the king of Delhi, but his relative and Raja Jaichand (Ashutosh Rana) of Kannauj did not like it. Not only that, Emperor Prithviraj also brings Sanyogita (Manushi Chhillar), daughter of Jaichand, out of Swayamvar’s mandap. Due to which, Jaichand, who was humiliated, made Prithviraj a prisoner of treachery and handed over to Sultan Mohammad Gori (Manav Vij) of Ghazni. So, there are many stories about the war between Emperor Prithviraj and Mohammad Gori but according to this film, you have to go to the theater to see how Emperor Prithviraj teaches lessons to Mohammad Gori.
Web Series Review – Ashram 3
The two-and-a-half-hour film hastily depicts the story of Emperor Prithviraj. There are many unanswered questions in the film. The scene of the fight between Prithviraj and the lions in the movie ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ will look thrilling. But with a budget of Rs 300 crore, the film depicts both the battles of the lowlands in limited scenes which does not seem appropriate. Director Dr. Chandra Prakash Dwivedi has presented the film in a flat estimate to avoid controversy in two and a half hours, but this is not the reason why the film does not leave an impression.
The screenplay of the film seems scattered. Akshay has tried to play the role of Emperor Prithviraj but after completing the shooting of his films in just 40-45 days, it is foolish for Akshay to expect perfection. Akshay looks weaker than Ranveer Singh of ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and ‘Padmavat’ and Hrithik Roshan of ‘Jodha Akbar’. The film lacks a powerful villain in the role of Mohammed Gori.
Major Movie Review: Adivi Shesh’s film is an honest tribute to Major Sandeep
However, noble actors like Sanjay Dutt, Ashutosh Rana, Sonu Sood and Sakshi Tanwar have done justice to their roles. But these artists had nothing special to do. The world beauty Manushi Chhillar, who made her Bollywood debut with this film, looks like a beautiful doll on screen. Undoubtedly, Manushi Chhillar still has a lot to learn in acting. Rupees are used like water to make the sets of the film elegant and the cinematography is also good. But sadly, both the director, the lead actor and the villain did not get along and they missed the opportunity to make history by avoiding controversy.
If we talk about the grandeur on the screen, if we compare it with the films of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ashutosh, then in this case also ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ gets beaten up. The film conveys the message of women empowerment but does not seem so impressive. Speaking of music, not a single song of the film sounds melodious except ‘Hari Har’. If you are fond of historical films, go to the theaters and wait for the movie to be released on OTT.
