The Story

Suryavanshi is a policeman who puts his duty ahead of his doctor wife Rhea (Katrina Kaif) and son.

He has lost his parents in the Mumbai bomb blasts and that is why he is searching for the masterminds of the bomb blasts, Bilal (Kumud Mishra) and Omar Hafeez (Jackie Shroff), who fled the country after committing inhumane acts in Mumbai.

Suryavanshi, meanwhile, finds some clues which show that 1000 kg of RDX was actually brought in the Mumbai bomb blast, out of which only 400 kg was used for destruction while 600 kg of RDX was brought to Mumbai.

It is hidden somewhere.

During the investigation, Suryavanshi succeeds in finding out that for the last 27 years, the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba has set up sleeper cells with fake names in different parts of the country, once again planning to carry out such bomb blasts in crowded areas, which would blow up Mumbai.

Why watch the movie?

You have to watch the film to know how Suryavanshi saves Mumbai from terrorist attacks with the help of Singham and Simba.
As a writer-director, Rohit Shetty has tried to balance his story with scenes of Hindu-Muslim unity and brotherhood. In the story, where Islamic militants have vowed to destroy the country, on the other hand, many Muslim loyalists are willing to lay down their lives for the country.

The action and chase scenes are spectacular, though they seem to be inspired by Hollywood movies.

Rohit’s specialty is to make his police heroes memorable by giving them special body language and dialogue.

Here Suryavanshi has created comedy by calling people by wrong names. The background score is strong. The climax of the film is strong. Songs like ‘Tip Tip Barsa Pani’ and ‘Chhodo Kal Ki Baatein’ have been recreated in the film.

Akshay Kumar proves to be twenty years old as Suryavanshi. From his heroic entry to the catchy action sequences of the climax, Akshay delivers what his fans want.

While his comic timing makes people laugh, his fitness proves him a super cop in the action sequence. Katrina is frozen in her role. She looks so glamorous in the iconic song ‘Tip Tip Barsa Pani’. When Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn make an entry in the second half, there is little flow in the film.

This trio of superstars makes comedy as well as action fun. The casting of Rohit Shetty is strong, with actors like Jackie Shroff, Kumud Mishra, Gulshan Grover, Abhimanyu Singh, Niketan Dhir making an impact in small roles.
