However, the biggest shock to all of us was the 15th film ‘The Kashmir Files’. I found it a propaganda, vulgar and unfit for competition at this prestigious film festival. I feel comfortable sharing my feelings openly with you from this stage’.

Anupam Kher’s reaction to Navad Lapid’s statement

Reacting to this statement of Navad Lapid, Anupam Kher shared some pictures on his Twitter handle and wrote along with it ‘Jooth ka kad kitana bhi tally kyun na ho…Satya ke mukabale mein sama chhota hi hota hai’.

Filmmaker Ashok Pandit also condemned Navad Lapid’s statement and wrote on Twitter ‘Mr. I condemn the kind of language used by Navad Lapid for the film ‘The Kashmir Files’. The killing of three lakh Kashmiri Hindus cannot be called vulgar. As a filmmaker and a Kashmiri Pandit I condemn this brazen act towards the victims of terrorism’.

‘The Kashmir Files’ was released in theaters earlier this year and tells the story of the atrocities committed against Kashmiri Pandits in the 1990s. It was the highest grossing film of 2022. In which the performance of every artist of the team including Anupam Kher was highly praised.
