Story
The web series Yeh Kali Kali Aankhe, based on the OTT platform Netflix, is based on William Shakespeare’s Othello phrase “For She Had Eyes And Choose Me”.
This web series is centered on the politics of Uttar Pradesh and is directed by Siddharth Sengupta. The title of the web series is taken from the famous song Yeh Kali Kali Aankhe from Shahrukh Khan’s film Baazigar.
The series begins in a small town in Uttar Pradesh, where leader Akhiraj (Saurabh Shukla) is corrupt and murdered. He does all the work that you have seen the villains of Hindi films do in the lure of votes.
Akhiraj’s soul resides in his daughter Purva (Anchal Singh). The story revolves around three main characters Vikrant (Tahir Raj Bhasin), Shikha (Shweta Tripathi), and Purva (Anchal).
Vikrant is the son of Munim (Brijendra Kala) of Akhiraj. It was only when Vikrant was seven years old that Purva fell in love with his schooling. But Vikrant doesn’t like Purva already.
He considers Purva to be ominous for his life. Purva goes abroad for study so that Vikrant can get rid of it as a child.
Vikrant becomes an engineer, whose life has to come on track and a new twist comes in the story.
In college, Vikrant falls in love with Shikha at first sight. Vikrant dreams of a middle-class family. He wants to spend his life in a small house with Shikha. And in the meanwhile, after 15 years, there is a sudden entry of Purva.
Purva is willing to go to any lengths to marry Vikrant, and Vikrant tries to avoid it. No one believes Vikrant in the face of the love of the leader’s daughter and the power of money.

Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein Review
The series begins with a scene of Vikrant firing and bloody Vikrant in the room. The story goes along with politics, money, power. In the web series, viewers will find a thriller as well as a dirty game of power.
The makers have re-enacted the concept of 90s films, combining violence, politics, and love stories together.
Acting
Tahir Raj Bhasin has been seen in 3 films Back to Back. 83, Ranjish Hi Sahi and now he will also be seen in a loop wrap with Tapasi Pannu. Tahir seems to be constantly trying to prove himself in the black eye.
This has an effect on his acting. He tries to do his character enough justice. In some scenes, her facial expressions look a bit pale. It would have been nice if the director had tried to bring his talent to the screen a little better.
Shweta Tripathi is known for her strong acting. Once again, it looks like Mirzapur’s Golu. The best work in this series has been done by Aanchal Singh, Saurabh Shukla, and Brijendra Kala.
Aanchal Singh has got a strong role in Yeh Kali Kali Aankhe. He tries to do his character enough justice with a strong personality and bold estimate as per the need of the story. Anchal is the strongest character in this web series and he has done a very good job.

Direction
Siddharth Sengupta, director of popular shows like Balika Vadhu, has directed the series Yeh Kali Kali Aankhe. He has previously directed Alt Balaji’s series Ignore and Abducted.
The project was big for them. The story of this web series is co-written by Anahata Menon and Varun Badola. The small screen style is reflected in the script and direction of the story.
The director has tried to tie every episode, but at times it seems to be getting loose. Some scenes seem unnecessary. Released on Netflix, this web series raises viewers’ expectations.
Artists like Saurabh Shukla, Tahir Raj, Brijendra Kala, and Shweta Tripathi have doubled their hopes.
Why watch
This web series by Tahir Raj and Shweta Tripathi will be reminiscent of 90s films in which the makers have spiced up OTT. If you are a fan of 90s Bollywood thriller movies then this movie is definitely for you.
There are some songs in the web series that viewers are less likely to like. You can’t get emotional even in the emotional scenes of the series. The cast and director have worked hard, but the film is average.
