Actress Nupur Joshi, seen in the serial ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ (Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai), has been scammed online. Nupur has revealed that she applied to get the blue tick of the Instagram page. He received a mail asking for his government ID proof. Later, Nupur comes to know that she has been cheated and is now worried about her future.

Nupur told the whole story

Narrating the whole incident, Nupur said, “I put a request to verify my Instagram page and that’s where the whole thing started. They give a form in which we have to submit documents. This whole activity is to be kept private. But the very next day I An email came in which they pretended to be from the Instagram team. It said they would verify my page but I would have to submit government documents and after reviewing them would give a blue tick and appear on my page. I got this. It seemed appropriate because how could a third party know that I had applied for Blue Tick. But I was fooled by some hackers. I don’t know what will happen next but I am scared.”

Nupur, who has worked in several serials including ‘Rakhi’, ‘Do Hanso Ka Joda’, also says that there are many third parties who make huge sums of money by targeting celebrity profiles. Nupur also shared a screenshot of the email from the hackers on Instagram. He wrote, “I have been working in the entertainment industry for a decade. I was never interested in the blue badge but my fans and friends made me understand its importance. I felt that I should get the blue tick to avoid fraud by creating fake profiles in my name. But I became a victim of online fraud.”

Nupur further wrote, “This is shocking and social media authorities are keeping silent on this. There are many people who have done nothing but still get VIP badges but artists like us who work hard still get recognition. Struggling, they are being asked for huge amount by third party. There are still many fake accounts in my name and I am saddened by this. I am very saddened by this whole incident. Hope the Instagram team will see my complaint and take action against them. will take action.”
